The launch of Release 12.0.3 Financials (project Phase I) at Pace occurred in January 2008 with the first year-end completion performed, with Phase II launching in March 2009. The R12 Financials implementation was a major step for Pace as the Financials and Procurement Applications will serve as the foundation for future Oracle EAM, CRM and HRMS installations.
The new Oracle system reengineers Pace business processes that operated from legacy systems, which were implemented as vertical solutions with limited data and process integratons across all business functions. The project provided Pace with a turn-key enterprise and technical infrastructure solution, tightly integrated into Pace's highly automated corporate headquarters.
Additionally, Pace has been able to realize business process improvements such as:
| • |
Management of project cost accounting functionality to provide scaling to large capital programs, including project budgeting and forecasting, project audit capability and schedule interdependency |
| • |
Realization of increased bus availability, better cost management and improved capital planning accuracy by integrating work order activity, inventory management and planned maintenance scheduling |
| • |
Efficiencies in managing staff through the use of simplified human resource operational processes in anticipation of increased ridership |
