This presentation will discuss design and development of the custom solution used at the City of Burbank to resolve unique payroll processing issues with floating base pay. The challenges faced include calculating overtime, payoffs, and cash outs when an employee worked a partial pay period, or employee had leave without pay as overtime, payoffs and cash outs are to be paid as if employee was working the full pay period as per scheduled hours. It is like running two payrolls and merging the results to generate one pay check.
