Frequently Asked Questions on AST Careers
(1) Where can I learn about career openings at AST?
All open positions are posted on our 'Open Positions' page on this website. You may click on a position, which will lead you to Dice.com and a full description of the position. From here you may submit your resume online by clicking on the specific job opening.
(2) What should I do if AST does not have an opening that matches my skills?
We would like you to still send your resume to our hiring@astcorporation.com e-mail address. There is a good chance that an opening requiring your skills and background will be available in the future. We will contact you when a suitable opportunity arises.
(3) I really want a job at AST, how can I get hired?
AST looks for talented people who have a wide range of interests. Most new hires have degrees and/or advanced degrees or significant experience working in Oracle. In addition, great candidates have experience, comfort, and desire for doing their work in teams. AST projects are highly collaborative, and project teams typically comprise people from multiple ERP disciplines with AST, from our client and sometimes other AST partners. Once we get started in the interview process, we talk to your references, and have enough substantial conversations with you to learn who you are and help you get to know AST.
(4) How is a typical interview process conducted?
Our recruiting team coordinates the interview and offer process. Usually, the first interview is a 'get to know you' session that is conducted over the phone. The following interviews are also usually conducted over the phone with various AST people. Once it is determined that your candidacy is a strong fit, you will be invited for a final interview to meet with pertinent AST employees, management and partners of the firm.
(5) How long is the interview process?
At AST, we do our due diligence in our interview process. The length of time it takes to hire someone depends on different situations. Usually the process takes 2 to 3 weeks.
(6) Does AST require years of Oracle consulting experience?
We think it is important for our continued success that we bring in people that have at least 2 to 3 years of Oracle-related experience, whether as a consultant or a strong end-user. We need seasoned professionals who can hit the ground running and help us succeed in our various projects. We have a solid, supportive professional network in place that can help a less experienced consultant grow and thrive.
(7) Where does AST rank itself in the consulting marketplace in terms of corporate culture and employee retention?

(9) I am concerned about establishing some long-term objectives that might affect my skills down the road. What can I expect in the way of client assignments?

We value the hard work our consultants provide to our clients and to the growth of our business. In addition of an excellent benefits package we also provide compensatory time off, overtime pay and a performance based bonus to our employees.
(12) How much will I have to travel to client sites?
AST has a national practice and travel is required for most consulting positions. However we try to place consultants as close to their home base as possible. This minimizes the cost of a project for our clients and eases the impact on our employees’ family lives. Ultimately, travel is dependent on the client’s location.
(13) What is AST's dress code?
We are business casual at all AST’s offices. We follow the client’s dress code while at their site.
