HEADLINE: The City of Knoxville, Tennessee chooses AST Corporation as its Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) implementation partner for Oracle E-Business Suite.

Because the applications in Oracle’s E-Business Suite are built on a unified information architecture that consolidates data from Oracle and non-Oracle applications, the decision to select Oracle’s E-Business Suite was immediately viewed as a cost saver that could increase productivity with current information. Eager to share consistent information across the enterprise, the City chose an aggressive implementation plan targeting a July 2005 “go live” date that included the core financial modules of GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Inventory, Purchasing, iProcurement, Sourcing along with Projects and Grants. With a view towards maximizing their existing IT systems and investments, the City was able to easily deploy these initiatives. With AST Corporation teaming up with skilled City resources and providing knowledge transfer to virtually every level of user and “superuser”, the “go live” was achieved without incident. The City does not plan to curtail this ongoing enterprise view for all departments, having already decided on a second phase to include iSupplier and Public Sector Budgeting to enhance its ROI for the benefit of its constituents.
